Camosun Media

Camosun Media Merriman January 22, 2018             Personally, I don’t really enjoy listening to the radio, looking at the newspaper, or watching TV. Growing up in the digital generation, most of the news I get is either from social media or my family, who get it from TV news. I tend to want to stay away from news all together as it tends to be really angry and depressing. The type of news coverage today is almost all about death, war, or politics. The only time I bother to take interest in the news is if it directly impacts me. As for Camosun College, I have never once seen an ad for the school or seen them on the news. To me, Camosun is a ghost when it comes to social media presence. I think that for a school that prides itself on its students and their opinions, it would have a little more attention in the media. Some ideas that could work would be to start advertising and making a media presence on platforms more catered to the newer generations....

NEWS RELEASE ASSIGNMENT JAN 15, 2018 Victoria Widget Company re-hires 50 people.             50 people were rehired after being laid off last June. The National Widget Company decided that with the increased sales of widgets it was time that they rehired the people that they laid off. The NWC experienced a drastic decrease in sales last year and were forced to lay off some of their staff. 200 people in total were laid off, 50 of which were in Victoria.             “The increase in sales has been unprecedented. We think this opportunity opens up enormous markets which will last for years.” Said Company President Andrew Bryce. The NWC plans on bringing the employees back in over six weeks as need.
