-          Due to overproduction of widgets, the @NationWidgetCompany is restructuring the company.

-          200 people are being laid off due to the overproduction of widgets from our competitors. President Andy Bryce is deeply saddened at the loss of those laid off as they were “like family” to him.

-          The @NationalWidgetCompany is open to rehiring those laid off by the restructuring should the market pick back up.

-          The @NationalWidgetCompany is proud to announce that it will be rehiring all those laid off by the restructuring.

-          Due to a recent deal made with China, the @NationalWidgetComapny has rehired those laid off and plans to keep expanding.

-          The recent China deal has been better than expected for widget production in Canada. Expansions to the company can be expected in the near future.

-          The increase in widget popularity in China has caused a massive demand for Widgets. Due to this, the @NationalWidgetCompany will be expanding its reach to Saskatchewan.  

-          Due to the steady increase in sales, we are proud to announce that we are opening a new manufacture facility in Regina, Saskatchewan.  

-          @NationalWidgetCompany new facility is looking to hire 100 new employees who are wanting to join Canada’s oldest Widget Company’s new facility.

Tuition Fee CMNS 165 Merriman             With post-secondary education becoming increasingly important in todays work force, it is time the government re-evaluates how it goes about tuition fees. The way it is now, the average Canadian will spend about $6,571 on their tuition during their degree program. This is “up 3.1% from the previous academic year” according to Statistics Canada. This makes it increasingly harder for people to get a post-secondary degree. With the current structure, those with money get degrees and those without don’t. If someone with little money does decide to go to post-secondary, it could mean either using all of their savings, becoming broke in the process, or taking out a student loan, which would cause future problems for them. If you were to ask any student now what they thought of the price of tuition, they would probably say that they wish it was lowed. But what if the government decided...

Camosun Media Merriman January 22, 2018             Personally, I don’t really enjoy listening to the radio, looking at the newspaper, or watching TV. Growing up in the digital generation, most of the news I get is either from social media or my family, who get it from TV news. I tend to want to stay away from news all together as it tends to be really angry and depressing. The type of news coverage today is almost all about death, war, or politics. The only time I bother to take interest in the news is if it directly impacts me. As for Camosun College, I have never once seen an ad for the school or seen them on the news. To me, Camosun is a ghost when it comes to social media presence. I think that for a school that prides itself on its students and their opinions, it would have a little more attention in the media. Some ideas that could work would be to start advertising and making a media presence on platforms more catered to the newer generations....
